Included

Six parts of the monitored service

Equipment in the home, a backup connection, an app and a staffed monitoring center, as Xfinity describes the service.

Staffed 24/7 monitoring

Monitoring agents are on duty around the clock. When a sensor trips, an agent assesses the alert, contacts you, and calls emergency services if they are needed.

About 7 days of cloud video

Camera recordings are saved to the cloud automatically for up to approximately 7 days, and you can play them back from a phone or computer.

Cellular and battery backup

If the power or the internet drops, a cellular backup connection keeps the monitoring running until service returns.

Control from the app

The Xfinity app arms the system, opens a live camera feed, locks a door and sends alerts to your phone wherever you are.

A no-contract option

Eligible plans can start without a long-term contract. Which no-contract options Xfinity offers at your address is something we confirm on the call.

Check it on the TV

With Xfinity TV, the Voice Remote brings up the system status and camera feeds on the television, with no extra app required.

Equipment

Cameras, sensors, locks and monitoring

The system is built from devices chosen for your layout, from a doorbell camera to a sensor on every opening.

  • Cameras and doorbells

Indoor and outdoor HD cameras, video doorbells among them, record all the time or on motion and keep footage in secure cloud storage. The doorbell shows who is outside on your phone.

  • Locks and sensors

Door and window sensors send an alert when something opens unexpectedly. Compatible smart locks let you give or remove access from anywhere, instead of hiding a spare key.

  • Professional monitoring

Add Xfinity’s 24/7 professional monitoring and an agent looks at each alert before emergency services are called, so fewer false alarms go out.

Security questions

Xfinity Home Security, answered

A triggered sensor, whether an opened door, detected motion or smoke, sends a signal to a monitoring station staffed at all hours. An agent reviews it and tries to reach you; if your safety cannot be confirmed, the agent contacts local emergency services for you. Response procedures vary, and we can go through the current details before you order.

A typical core system is a central hub, door and window sensors and a keypad. Cameras, smart locks and motion detectors are added to suit the layout. Whether a device works in your home depends on its construction and wiring, and we go through the recommended setup on the call.

Not always. Some monitoring plans are offered without a long-term commitment on eligible configurations. Contract terms, early-termination conditions and plan lengths vary by package and location, and we read them to you before anything is activated.

Standard plans generally keep cloud video for approximately 7 days, and upgraded plans keep it longer. Footage is reached through your account sign-in, so only you see it unless you share access. Storage length and access terms are subject to Xfinity’s current service agreement, which we can read to you.
