The quick answer
Spectrum’s September prices are $30/mo for 1 year for Internet 100 (100 Mbps), $40/mo for Internet 500 (500 Mbps) and $60/mo for Internet 1 Gig. New Internet customers also get one Unlimited Mobile service free for 12 months. With two or more services, the Internet price falls to $20, $30 or $40 depending on speed, and the price guarantee lengthens from 1 year to 2 years, or to 3 with three services. Each section below gives one offer’s price, its conditions and what it costs once the promotion ends.
Internet: three prices, then the standard rate
These are the three residential Internet plans Spectrum sells now, with first-year prices:
- Spectrum Internet® 100 — 100 Mbps — $30/mo for 1 year
- Spectrum Internet® 500 — 500 Mbps — $40/mo for 1 year
- Spectrum Internet® 1 Gig — $60/mo for 1 year, with Spectrum Advanced WiFi included at no extra charge
All three include a free modem and have no data cap and no contract. When the promotional year ends, the plan moves to Spectrum’s standard rate, which Spectrum confirms at the time of order. Plan for that change from the start: the 1-year price guarantee tells you the month it arrives, and on the call we give you the standard rate as Spectrum quotes it for your address.
Advanced WiFi, Spectrum’s whole-home router system, adds $10/mo to Internet 100 or Internet 500 and is included free with Internet 1 Gig or in any bundle. Extenders are $5/mo apiece and need Advanced WiFi. A large house or thick interior walls are the usual reasons to ask about them.
Spectrum also prices two Multi-Gig tiers, both in select markets only: 2 Gig at $80/mo and 7 Gig at $140/mo. Whether a street address qualifies is something only Spectrum’s own check can answer, so we run it on the call.
The free Unlimited Mobile service: 12 months, then the standard rate
With any Spectrum Internet plan, you can add one Spectrum Mobile® Unlimited service, free for its first 12 months. After that, Spectrum’s standard Unlimited rate applies: $40/mo as a single line, or $30/mo per line on an account with two or more.
The conditions, from Spectrum’s offer terms:
- Limited to one promotional line per account. A household gets one free Unlimited service, however many lines it adds.
- Auto Pay is required for the promotional discount to apply.
- Tablets are excluded. The free service is for a smartphone.
- Spectrum Internet® is required. Cancel Internet and the mobile promotion ends with it.
Each Unlimited line comes with nationwide 5G, unlimited talk and text, and unlimited data that runs at full speed up to 30 GB per line. It also has a mobile hotspot, with hotspot speeds reduced after 5 GB.
Whether it pays off depends on your other plans. Taking Spectrum Internet regardless? Then the free service costs nothing for 12 months. Keeping another mobile carrier? Compare that bill with the Spectrum rate from month 13, because from then on you pay for the line.
The $1,000 Savings Guarantee: who qualifies and how credits work
Spectrum’s promise is savings of at least $1,000 in your first year, measured against what you paid before, for households that bring Internet and two or more mobile lines over from Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T. If the real figure is lower, Spectrum pays the difference as bill credits.
The steps, as Spectrum sets them out:
- Order Spectrum Internet with two or more Spectrum Mobile lines, and port in at least two numbers from Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T.
- Within 60 days of installation, send Spectrum your recent bills from the previous Internet and mobile providers so the comparison can be made.
- Spectrum calculates the savings for year one. If they reach $1,000, nothing more is needed. If they fall short, Spectrum spreads the difference over the first year as equal monthly bill credits.
- Internet and Mobile both stay active for the full year; cancel early and remaining credits are forfeited.
Spectrum compares like with like: Internet, WiFi and Mobile, taxes and fees included. A mobile carrier other than the three named means the guarantee does not apply.
How much you would save turns on your current bills, so have them to hand when you call (877) 365-2069; we will go through Spectrum’s comparison rules with you before you decide anything.
A TV bundle, priced line by line
Take one of Spectrum’s advertised bundles, Internet 500 + Stream TV Signature at $130/mo for 2 years, and list its parts:
- Spectrum Internet 500 (500 Mbps), priced at $30/mo inside the bundle ($40 alone)
- Spectrum Stream TV® Signature at $100/mo for 1 year (standard rates apply after the promotional period), which carries 150+ channels plus streaming apps Spectrum values at roughly $114/mo: HBO Max Basic With Ads, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN Unlimited, Paramount+ Essential, Peacock Premium, discovery+, FOX One, AMC+ with Ads and ViX Premium with ads
- Spectrum Advanced WiFi, which every bundle includes
- A Xumo Stream Box for the whole bundle term
- A 2-year price guarantee; Internet alone gets 1 year
With Internet 1 Gig in place of Internet 500, the same bundle is $140/mo on a 2-year guarantee, and Cloud DVR Unlimited is added at no extra charge.
Two buyouts can apply when you switch. Spectrum’s Contract Buyout, up to $500 toward early termination fees, comes with qualifying TV + Internet packages; it pays the termination fee only, so equipment return fees from the old provider are still yours. Tell us what your contract says and we will check it against the terms.
The second is for phones. Spectrum’s Phone Balance Buyout, up to $2,500 per account, pays remaining device balances on the condition that at least two lines switch and at least two numbers port in to Spectrum Mobile. Terms apply; the required disclosures below list them.
When a deal is not worth taking
Each offer has a case where it does not fit. These are the ones we point out on the call:
The free mobile service, if everyone is already on one family plan elsewhere and satisfied with it. Adding a single Spectrum line would split the household between two carriers. The offer suits households moving every line.
The Savings Guarantee, if your mobile carrier is someone other than Verizon, T-Mobile or AT&T, or you are moving a single line. It needs one of those three carriers and at least two mobile lines.
The TV bundle, if you already subscribe to most of the included apps yourself and like managing them that way. In the bundle the apps are tied to the TV plan: cancel the TV tier and they go too.
The 3-year guarantee, if you expect to move within three years. Nothing penalizes leaving, since there is no contract or cancellation fee; the guarantee applies to the price, not to how long you stay. If a move is likely, a 1-year standalone plan is simpler.
What happens on the order call
Authorized Internet Retailer, an independent authorized retailer, takes Spectrum orders on (877) 365-2069. On that call, three things happen in order:
- The filing and the address: we look at the coverage Spectrum filed for your ZIP, then confirm with Spectrum what it offers at your street address.
- The numbers: the promo price, the standard rate after the guarantee, what a bundle changes and how the free Mobile service applies. You choose.
- The order: it is entered with Spectrum, which handles billing, installation and equipment from that point.
You pay Spectrum’s advertised residential price, with no markup from us. Spectrum may pay us a referral fee when you sign up. Nothing obliges you to order, and if a deal does not suit your situation once we have been through it, we say so.
